Tickets
Glossop and New Mills are in the current extended (ex Systemone extended) zone. |n the extended zone, adults can continue their journeys on day & period tickets without needing to pay again. It is also extended to rail fares, to give reduced period ticket rates. Please read the statements below very carefully when choosing your ticket.
Child/youth fares in the extended zone
The extended zone only offers adult tickets. Child/youth fares in Glossop & New Mills are administered by Derbyshire CC, and will be charged at their current rate (£1.50) with the relevant BeeLine card. It will just be a single journey ticket & not a `hopper`.
Single fares
All Bee buses will offer a `hopper` ticket as a single journey fare, along the whole length of any of the 3 routes. The price remains £2, but your ticket will have a time marker on it, which will be 59 minutes from purchase. Do not throw away your ticket, as it will be valid on any other Bee bus route within that hour. So it`s as many journeys as you can make (on yellow buses only) in the hour on your ticket. You can also stay longer on your last bus, as the time mark only relates to when you show your ticket to the driver !
High Peak fares will be at the national rate of £3 or less per single trip.
Day Saver tickets
This is where it gets complicated...
A Bee daysaver will only be valid on yellow Bee buses only....
If you are starting on a High Peak bus in Glossop or New Mills, but continuing on a yellow Bee bus, or making that journey in reverse, you need to ask for a Bee Anybus saver. This will give you all the current coverage of a Systemone saver ticket. Without the Anybus marker, High Peak drivers will refuse you travel. Anybus tickets are only available on-bus, and not via the app.
If you can travel just using High Peak, they also have a saver ticket range. There are tickets with boundary areas, or the original network tickets are still available. Please visit www.highpeakbuses.com/tickets-fares for their range.
Travelling on a regular basis ?
Why not make use of a Bee, or TfGM issued Smart Card ?
Tickets for 7 days and upwards are available, along with combination bus/tram tickets. Purchase via the Bee website, then tap your card on the bus ticket machine or any Metrolink ticket reader to collect. Smart cards | Bee Network | Powered by TfGM
Period tickets are available for all operators in the extended zone. However, as with "Anybus" day tickets, you will only be able to buy these on the bus, cash only. Look for your required TfGM day or period ticket here.
Tap `n` Go on BeeNetwork
TfGM has introduced Tap `n` Go. You can use your payment card or electronic money transfer to tap to make payment for all journeys on buses and trams within Greater Manchester, and all journeys on our 3 Bee routes (You will still need a physical paper ticket in the extended zone if using High Peak buses.).
"Simply" do the following :
Tap in, on every bus you use. On the trams, tap in at your start station & tap out at your destination station.
All your taps go into a data file, and at the end of the day you will be charged the best fare, or relevant day ticket price for your journeys. If you tap in on more than 1 bus in a hour, you will still only be charged £2.
This is an alternative way to pay, and all current payment methods are still accepted. All tickets and fares will still be available via the app & website too.
